Today (7.1.2026), the Block Development Office, Rural Development Department, Karaikal, organised a Campaign Against Sexual Violence and for Gender Equality at KKGHS Kurumbagaram under the guidance of the Headmaster, Mr. Vivekanandan. The resource persons, namely K. Sanmathi (Gender & FLHW – Block Manager), A. Mariyapushpam (Gender CRP – Nedungadu Commune), along with community representatives A. Jenithamary (CP – Kurumbagaram PLF), Durga (CP – Kurumbagaram PLF), and J. Ezhilarasi (Farming CRP – Kurumbagaram PLF), addressed the students and emphasised the principles of gender equity, women’s rights, and the prevention of all forms of gender-based violence. The programme was conducted in the presence of members of the teaching faculty, and students, and served as an effective platform for promoting social awareness and behavioural change towards a violence-free and gender-just society.
